Firewall

A firewall is a filter for network traffic on either a network (i.e., hardware) or host (i.e., operating system). Depending on the traffic it allows or blocks, firewalls can reduce the risk of unwanted network intrusions or "hacking", and limit the spread of viruses or other computer security compromises.
